All India Muslim Forum On the Western Intervention in Libya

Lucknow (20 March 2011): Chairman, All India Muslim Forum has issued the following statement: I can anticipate the disastrous consequences of this Western intervention in Libya. However, it was inevitable, and even Gaddafi is on record to have regretted the absence of Western help to quell the so-called Al-Qaida terrorists of his make.

I do respect the Tunisian and Egyptian dictators, who after initial intransigence, relinquished their posts to pave the way for the other generation to decide the future of their respective countries. At this stage those who are opposing the Western intervention are answerless as what they would have done to save the revolutionaries and other civilians from being massacred at the hands of this tyrant.

On the other hand, Saudis have sent their forces to help the Bahrain ruler quell the revolt and regrettably, the sectarian Shia-Sunni label is being attached to the entire uprising , the way it was manipulated when after the Iranian revolution a danger had been created to the survival of these Muslim kings and sheikhs. And now I can visualize that in the coming days, the Maulvis will be funded across the world to provide sectarian colour to the simmering discontent of revolution in Bahrain, Saudi Arab etc.
